Who can take part
- You are at least 20 years old.
- Your rectal cancer is in the mid-to-low part of the rectum (within about 4 inches from the anus) and is stage II or III (not spread to other organs).
- You have not had your tumor removed yet, and you are able to have surgery after the study treatment.
- You are in good enough health to be up and about (ECOG performance status 0 or 1).
- You are not pregnant or breastfeeding and are willing to use effective birth control if needed.
- You do not have serious heart, kidney, liver, or blood conditions, diabetes, or other active cancers.
