Who can take part
- You have a staph infection on a prosthetic (artificial) heart valve in the tricuspid, pulmonic, mitral, or aortic position.
- You or your healthcare proxy agree to participate.
- You are not expected to pass away within 90 days or receiving only comfort care.
- Your infection is not resistant to rifampin, and you have no serious allergy or dangerous drug interaction with it.
