Who can take part

  • You must be 18 years or older.
  • You must have a staph infection in a bone or joint (like a hip, knee, or shoulder replacement infection, or a chronic bone infection).
  • The infection must be treatable with rifampin plus either levofloxacin or ciprofloxacin.
  • You must not have septic shock, severe liver disease, kidney failure requiring dialysis, or be pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • You must be able to give written informed consent.
