Who can take part
- You have a hip or knee joint implant infection caused by staph bacteria (including certain coagulase-negative staph)
- Your infection germs are able to be treated with rifampicin-type antibiotics plus at least one other suitable antibiotic
- You had the implant cleaned (debridement) and antibiotics started, and the implant is kept (DAIR plan)
- You are at least 18 years old and can give informed consent
- You can take oral study treatment (pills) and you do not have a known allergy to rifabutin or rifampicin
