Albumin for large artery stroke after clot removal
Treatments studied
Part of Brain & nervous system, Heart & circulation clinical trials.
This trial tests whether giving albumin, a protein naturally found in blood, can improve recovery after a large artery stroke when given along with a procedure to remove the clot. It's for people aged 18-80 who have a stroke from a blockage in the front part of the brain and can get treatment within 24 hours.
Summary written for real people, not researchers, by Clin2.

- You had a stroke from a large blockage in the front part of the brain and can be treated within 24 hours of symptoms starting
- Your stroke disability score (NIHSS) is 6 or higher

This trial tests if a procedure to remove a blood clot from the main artery in the back of the brain (basilar artery) can help people who have a large stroke. The procedure is done within 24 hours of symptom onset, and researchers want to see if it can reduce disability.
This study tests whether adding a drug called human urinary kallidinogenase to standard clot-removal therapy helps people recover better after a large-vessel stroke. If you qualify, you would receive the drug or a placebo by IV along with the procedure, and doctors will monitor your recovery.
This trial tests whether giving a medicine called Cerebrolysin after a delayed procedure to remove a blood clot from the brain can help people recover from a severe stroke. It looks at people who have their clot removed more than 6 hours after symptoms start.
This trial tests if removing a large blood clot from the brain up to 3 days after a stroke improves recovery compared to standard medical care alone. It is for patients who have a severe stroke and are otherwise healthy enough for the procedure.
This trial tests whether injecting a blood thinner called tirofiban directly into brain blood vessels during a stroke procedure helps prevent clots from forming again. If you've had a stroke caused by a large clot in your brain that was successfully removed, this study may help protect your recovery.
This trial tests whether giving a protein called albumin directly into the artery after a clot-removal procedure can improve recovery for people with a serious stroke caused by a large artery blockage. It is for patients who have had a successful clot removal and do not have certain other health problems.
