Comparing two drugs for metabolic autonomous cortisol secretion

Mild Autonomous Cortisol Secretion (MACS)

Treatments studied

Part of Hormones & metabolism clinical trials.

This trial tests whether metyrapone or osilodrostat works better for people with MACS, a condition where the adrenal glands produce too much cortisol on their own. The goal is to help you and your doctor choose the best treatment.

Metyrapone study for mild cortisol excess

This study tests if a medication called metyrapone can help people with mild autonomous cortisol secretion (MACS), a condition where your body makes too much cortisol. It looks at whether the drug improves related health problems like high blood pressure, diabetes, or bone issues.

NCT07247058Recruiting· Phase 4
Testing Isturisa for mild cortisol excess from adrenal tumors

This study tests whether a drug called Isturisa (osilodrostat) can safely lower mild cortisol excess in people with adrenal tumors. It aims to help patients avoid the long-term effects of too much cortisol.

NCT06344143Recruiting
Detecting mild hormone overproduction from adrenal tumors

This study looks for a mild form of hormone overproduction (called autonomous cortisol secretion) in people who have a benign growth on their adrenal gland. You will undergo a blood test to measure how well your body suppresses cortisol after taking a single dose of dexamethasone.

NCT07361874Recruiting
Adrenal surgery vs semaglutide for mild cortisol excess

This study tests whether removing a small adrenal tumor or taking a diabetes/weight-loss medication (semaglutide) works better to improve health in people with mild hormone problems. It may help if you have an adrenal nodule causing slight cortisol overproduction or if you have obesity and related conditions.

Tirzepatide after adrenal surgery for mild cortisol condition

This trial tests if tirzepatide can help with weight and blood pressure after you have surgery to remove an adrenal gland that's making too much cortisol. It may be a good option if you still have health issues like high blood pressure or obesity after surgery.

NCT07104812Recruiting· Phase 2
Testing low-dose osilodrostat for mild cortisol excess

This study tests whether a low dose of the drug osilodrostat can help people with mild cortisol excess (MACS) caused by benign adrenal tumors. It may improve related health problems like high blood pressure, diabetes, or bone thinning.
