Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You have had atrial fibrillation that lasted at least 7 days.
  • You are scheduled for an electrical cardioversion (a procedure to 'shock' your heart back into normal rhythm).
  • You are not allergic to amiodarone or have had serious side effects from it before.
  • You have a smartphone and know how to use it.
  • You have normal thyroid function and no severe liver disease.
