This trial tests an immunotherapy approach to stop high-risk lung spots from turning into cancer. It is for people who are current or former heavy smokers with multiple slow-growing lung nodules that are not yet ready for surgery.

Who can take part

  • You are a current or former smoker with a history of more than 20 pack-years (e.g., one pack a day for 20 years).
  • You have at least two partly solid lung spots, with the solid part smaller than 9mm, and at least one of them has grown on a CT scan from the past year.
  • Your lung nodules are not yet candidates for surgery.
  • You can commit to giving blood samples (about 100 mL, or 12 tubes) at five different visits.
  • You are 18 or older and in fairly good health (able to do daily activities without major help).
