Who can take part
- You must have at least 20 natural teeth.
- You must have gum disease (periodontitis) that a dentist has graded as stage 2, 3, or 4.
- Deep gum pockets of 5 millimeters or more must be on both sides of your mouth.
- You cannot currently smoke or vape, nor have you ever smoked or vaped.
- You must not have diabetes, a bleeding disorder, autoimmune disease, or be on blood thinners or immune-suppressing drugs.
- You cannot have had gum treatment, surgery, or taken certain medications in the past 3–6 months, and you cannot be pregnant or breastfeeding.
