Who can take part

  • You are between 8 and 18 years old
  • You have acute myeloid leukemia, high-risk acute lymphoblastic leukemia in remission, or certain types of myelodysplastic syndrome
  • You have a family member who is a half-matched blood stem cell donor
  • You are generally well enough to have a Karnofsky performance score of at least 80
  • Your heart, lungs, kidneys, and liver are working well enough
  • You cannot have serious heart disease or uncontrolled high blood pressure
