Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older
  • You had a recent stroke due to a large blockage in a major artery in the front part of your brain and received a mechanical clot removal procedure (endovascular thrombectomy)
  • You or your legal representative can give permission to join the study, or a delayed consent process is allowed by the ethics committee
  • You do not need a breathing machine for an ongoing medical problem before the procedure
  • You do not have severe heart or lung problems, or other conditions that would make the assigned head position unsafe, according to the study doctor
  • You do not have severe confusion, nausea, or vomiting expected to make it hard to keep your head in the assigned position
