Who can take part

  • You are either a person with diabetic neuropathy confirmed by a neurologist, or a healthy person without diabetes or nerve problems.
  • You must have at least one upper front tooth that is healthy—no root canal, no large cavities, no gum disease, and no signs of infection on X-ray.
  • You cannot have taken painkillers, sedatives, or nerve medications in the last 24 hours.
  • You cannot have cancer treatment, head/neck radiation, or other conditions that affect nerves (except diabetic neuropathy).
  • You cannot be pregnant or breastfeeding.
