Targeted treatment for remaining spots in EGFR lung cancer

This trial tests whether adding targeted radiation or surgery to your regular osimertinib treatment can better control any remaining spots of lung cancer. It is for people with a specific EGFR mutation whose cancer has shrunk but left a few active sites.

Who can take part

  • You have a type of lung cancer called EGFR-mutated non-small cell lung cancer (specifically the exon 19 deletion or L858R mutation).
  • Your cancer is advanced (stage IV) and you are currently on osimertinib (Tagrisso) as your first treatment.
  • After 3-6 months on osimertinib, a PET scan shows the disease is stable and you have 3 or fewer remaining spots (including the original tumor) that can be treated with targeted radiation or surgery.
  • You are generally in good health (able to care for yourself, daily activities not limited).
  • You have adequate blood counts and liver/kidney function (checked with blood tests).
