Ballet dancers with scoliosis: A study on bone health and exercise

This study looks at how scoliosis affects the bones and muscles of young female ballet dancers during puberty. It also tests whether a special exercise program can help. Eligible dancers will be followed for a year.

Who can take part

  • You are a female dancer between 11 and 16 years old.
  • You have been dancing classical ballet for at least 2 years.
  • You currently dance at least 3 times a week, including at least 3 hours of classical ballet weekly.
  • You have a mild or moderate scoliosis that does not need active medical or surgical treatment.
  • You are in good health, not taking any medications, and have never had orthopedic surgery.
