Who can take part

  • You are scheduled for a specific type of shoulder replacement (called subscapularis-sparing) by a surgeon at the University of Utah.
  • You are willing to take part in the study and come to follow-up visits.
  • You are 18 years of age or older.
  • You do not have an active infection, enough bone loss in the shoulder socket, a torn rotator cuff, or a history of shoulder instability.
  • You have not had a shoulder replacement before.
  • You can safely have an MRI scan.
