Who can take part
- You had a recent stroke, mini-stroke (TIA), or vision loss in one eye due to carotid artery blockage, and the blockage is more than 50%
- OR you have no symptoms but your neck artery is at least 70% blocked
- You are 18 years or older
- You understand the procedure and agree to follow the study plan and come back for checkups
- You do not have certain heart conditions like atrial fibrillation or a recent heart valve implant
- You do not have a history of bleeding in the brain, a large recent stroke, or a life expectancy less than 1 year
