Who can take part

  • You are generally healthy (no serious health conditions like heart disease, kidney problems, or bleeding disorders).
  • You have at least 20 natural teeth.
  • You have gum disease called periodontitis, with pockets 4 mm or deeper.
  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You are not allergic to ibuprofen or similar pain relievers.
  • You have not taken anti-inflammatory drugs or antibiotics in the last 3 months.
