Brain signal study for speech recovery after stroke or injury

Who can take part

  • You are between 20 and 80 years old.
  • You can understand and agree to take part in the study.
  • Your speech problems have lasted more than 12 months and have not improved much after 3-6 months of therapy.
  • You have severe speech difficulty (such as not being able to speak clearly or understandably) due to a stroke, brain tumor, ALS, or locked-in syndrome.
  • You can still understand language fairly well (hearing and reading comprehension at least 80% of normal).
  • You do not have a metal implant or other condition that would make an MRI or brain surgery unsafe.
