Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • Your liver cirrhosis is caused by hepatitis B or C, alcohol, autoimmune disease, fatty liver disease, or another accepted cause.
  • You are well enough to perform daily activities (Karnofsky score 60 or higher).
  • You have a blood vessel that can safely reach your liver's main artery.
  • If you have hepatitis B or C, your virus levels must be very low or undetectable. If alcohol-related, you must have stopped drinking for at least 6 months.
  • You are not pregnant, don't have active cancer, severe bleeding risk, or other major organ failure.
