Who can take part

  • You are 18 or older and have type 1 or type 2 diabetes.
  • Your foot ulcer has been there for 4 weeks to 6 months, is between 1 and 20 cm² (about the size of a quarter to a credit card), and is deep enough to involve the skin and under-layer but not expose muscle, tendon, or bone.
  • You have good blood flow to your foot, confirmed by a recent test (like ankle-brachial index or Doppler).
  • You don't have an active infection, gangrene, or a history of amputation on that foot.
  • You haven't had certain treatments (like chemotherapy, steroids, or other wound-healing products) in the past month and are willing to wear a special shoe or boot to take pressure off the ulcer.
