Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You have new or worsening shortness of breath, especially when lying flat.
  • You have acute heart failure, diagnosed by signs like fluid in lungs, high heart-failure blood test levels, or a history of heart failure.
  • You are not taking a blood thinner for more than 48 hours before this hospital visit.
  • You do not have severe kidney disease or an allergy to CT contrast dye.
