- You are 18 years or older
- You are having thyroid surgery where parathyroid tissue will be transplanted into your forearm
- You are willing to sign informed consent (permission) for the study
- You do not have hyperparathyroidism (overactive parathyroid glands)
- Your doctor plans to do a parathyroid autotransplantation (moving your own parathyroid tissue) during your surgery
