TUDCA treatment for breastfeeding mothers with liver concerns

Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatotic Liver Disease Infant Development

Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 45 years old
  • You are within 72 hours after giving birth
  • You plan to breastfeed or give expressed breast milk during the study
  • You have MASLD (metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease, a form of fatty liver)
  • Your breast milk sample shows a high-risk bile acid pattern (detected by a specific test)
  • Your newborn is healthy enough to eat by mouth and was born at least 37 weeks of pregnancy
