This study tests whether keeping blood pressure at different target levels after emergency clot-removal treatment (called endovascular therapy) can improve recovery from acute ischemic stroke caused by large vessel blockages. Who can take part

  • Age 18 or older
  • Had a stroke caused by a major blood vessel blockage in the front part of the brain (carotid or middle cerebral artery)
  • Received emergency clot-removal procedure within 24 hours of stroke onset and the clot was successfully removed
  • Had two blood pressure readings of 150 mmHg or higher (systolic, the top number) within 3 hours after the procedure
  • Can be enrolled and start the study within 3 hours after the clot removal procedure
  • Able to sign informed consent or have a legal representative do so
