Who can take part

  • You have a confirmed traumatic brain injury (head injury from trauma, confirmed by imaging or clinical exam)
  • You arrived at the hospital within 24 hours of your injury
  • Your doctors believe you are a good candidate for seizure-prevention medication based on standard medical guidelines
  • You do not have a history of epilepsy or seizures before this injury
  • You have normal or near-normal kidney and liver function
  • You are not pregnant, breastfeeding, or allergic to anti-seizure drugs
