Who can take part

  • Be between 18 and 65 years old
  • Have a body mass index (BMI) between 18 and 35
  • Have a moderate to severe traumatic brain injury, with a Glasgow Coma Scale score between 3 and 12
  • Have a brain CT scan showing findings that match the injury criteria for this study
  • Be able to receive the study drug within 120 minutes (about 2 hours) of the injury and arrive at the hospital within 90 minutes
  • Not be pregnant, breastfeeding, or have a history of liver disease, low platelets, or allergy to this medication
