Who can take part
- You must be 18 years or older.
- Your breast cancer must be HER2-positive, and you must have recurrent (come back) or metastatic (spread) breast cancer.
- You cannot have received chemotherapy or HER2-targeted therapy for advanced disease before. (Prior hormonal therapy or recurrence >12 months after adjuvant therapy is okay.)
- You need to have a good performance status (ECOG 0 or 1)—able to carry out daily activities.
- You must have at least one measurable tumor and adequate organ function (bone marrow, liver, kidney, heart).
- You cannot have untreated or symptomatic brain metastases, active other cancers, or severe heart/lung conditions.
