Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older
- You are in an intensive care unit (ICU) on a breathing machine
- Your doctor thinks you may need extra fluids because your heart is not pumping well enough
- You already have a PiCCO monitor (a special catheter that measures heart function)
- Your groin area is accessible and healthy enough for ultrasound imaging
- You or your legal representative can give written permission to join the study
