Who can take part

  • You are 60 years old or older
  • You have been diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy (nerve damage) affecting the bottom of your foot
  • You have balance problems—specifically, you can stand on one leg for less than 23 seconds
  • You can walk on your own for at least 6 minutes without a cane or walker (you can take breaks)
  • You are willing to wear the Walkasins device regularly as instructed
  • You are willing to participate in physical activity tracking and study appointments
