Who can take part

  • Diagnosed with HFpEF (heart failure with preserved ejection fraction) by European Society of Cardiology criteria
  • Heart failure symptoms (NYHA class II–IV, ranging from mild to severe)
  • Left ventricular ejection fraction of 50% or higher (your heart pumps at least half its blood with each beat)
  • Elevated NT-pro-BNP blood marker (125+ pg/ml in normal rhythm or 365+ pg/ml if you have atrial fibrillation)
  • Evidence of diastolic dysfunction (stiffness in the heart's lower chamber) on imaging or pressure measurements
  • Age 18 or older, able to understand and consent to the study
