Who can take part
- You have been diagnosed with persistent atrial fibrillation (your heart has been in an irregular rhythm for weeks or months)
- You are either taking a blood thinner reliably for at least 3 weeks before the procedure, or recent imaging confirmed you don't have a blood clot in your heart
- You have not had atrial fibrillation continuously for more than 1 year
- You are not in a medical emergency or hemodynamically unstable (your heart is pumping adequately)
- You are at least 18 years old and able to give informed consent
- You are not pregnant
