Who can take part

  • You must already be receiving electroconvulsive therapy at Pennsylvania Hospital
  • You must be willing to participate in optical brain monitoring during your ECT sessions
  • You cannot have other significant psychiatric conditions that would make the study unsafe for you
  • You cannot have had poor results from ECT in the past
  • You must be healthy enough physically to safely complete the study
