Who can take part

  • Age 21–50 years old
  • If you have Type 1 Diabetes: diagnosed at least 5 years ago, blood sugar control (HbA1c) of 8.5% or lower, using insulin injections or pump
  • Body weight in a specific range based on your group (healthy weight, Type 1 Diabetes only, or overweight with Type 1 Diabetes)
  • No active serious infections, heart disease, kidney disease, lung disease, or cancer history
  • No history of severe low blood sugar episodes you couldn't feel coming, diabetic complications affecting eyes or blood vessels, or ketoacidosis in the past 2 years
  • Not a current smoker and haven't quit smoking less than 5 years ago
