This study tests whether a new experimental medicine called CC-97540 is safe and well-tolerated in patients with a rare neurological disease called neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) who have a specific antibody marker (anti-AQP4). The trial involves a procedure that removes and reprocesses some of your immune cells.

Who can take part

  • Confirmed diagnosis of NMOSD with anti-AQP4 antibodies (detected by a specific blood test)
  • Currently stable on either ravulizumab or satralizumab treatment for at least 6 months with no disease flare-ups in the last year
  • Age 18–60 years old with relatively preserved eyesight (at least 20/200 in one eye) and mobility (EDSS score 6.5 or lower)
  • No active infections, uncontrolled heart disease, or other serious conditions that could interfere with the study
  • Up to date on meningococcal vaccines and able to undergo a leukapheresis procedure (a blood cell collection process) and MRI imaging
  • Normal liver function tests and adequate peripheral B cells (>5% by flow cytometry)
