Who can take part
- You must be diagnosed with chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH)—a condition where blood clots block lung blood vessels—and scheduled for pulmonary thromboendarterectomy surgery at InCor-FMUSP
- You must be 18 years old or older
- You cannot be pregnant
- You cannot have structural heart disease, heart rhythm problems, or a pacemaker/implantable device
- Your chest skin must be healthy with no open sores or lesions where the electrode belt will be placed
- You must have a central venous catheter (IV line in a major vein) placed before surgery
