Who can take part
- Age 18 or older (under 55 if you're in the SEEG group)
- Diagnosed with focal epilepsy (seizures from one area of the brain) or a temporal lobe lesion, OR healthy with no epilepsy history
- Full-Scale IQ of 70 or higher
- Able to speak and understand English well enough to complete memory tasks
- Able to give informed consent for the study
- If in the SEEG group: scheduled for stereoelectroencephalography (brain electrode monitoring) at UC Davis Medical Center
