Who can take part

  • Age 50 or older (or 18+ if you can't tolerate standard intensive chemotherapy due to other health conditions)
  • Diagnosed with AML or MDS that is either hard to treat, has come back, or has specific genetic abnormalities
  • A matched bone marrow or stem cell donor available—either an identical sibling or an unrelated donor matched at 8 out of 8 genetic markers
  • Good overall health status (able to care for yourself with minimal assistance) and heart/lung/kidney function within acceptable ranges
  • No HIV, hepatitis B or C (unless your viral load is undetectable with treatment), and willing to use birth control during the study
