Heart imaging study for TTR mutation carriers

ATTRATTR Gene MutationCardiomyopathyTransthyretin Mediated Amyloidosis (ATTR)

This study uses PET/CT scans (specialized imaging) to look for early heart damage in people who carry a TTR gene mutation that can affect the heart. You may qualify if you carry this mutation, have heart failure, or are a healthy control, and have already participated in a related study at UT Southwestern.

  • Completed the previous study (NCT05489549) at UT Southwestern Medical Center
  • Able to safely undergo PET/CT imaging without allergies to iodine
  • Kidney function adequate (eGFR >30)
  • Not currently taking heparin or similar blood thinners
  • Not pregnant, breastfeeding, or have untreated thyroid problems
