Who can take part
- Age 22 or older
- Diagnosed with schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder
- Tried at least 3 different antipsychotic medications (including clozapine) for at least 12 weeks each, without sufficient improvement
- Currently experiencing severe hallucinations or delusions that score 6 or higher on a symptom scale
- Able to walk without assistance and have stable housing and support
- No recent substance use, brain injury, pacemaker/defibrillator, or other conditions that would make surgery unsafe
