Who can take part

  • Be at least 19 years old
  • Have a doctor-confirmed diagnosis of asthma OR have COPD (confirmed by a breathing test showing FEV1/FVC below 0.70)
  • Be free from lung infections or asthma/COPD flare-ups for at least 4 weeks before starting
  • Be able to lie still in a CT scanner without problems
  • Not be pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Be willing to give written permission and follow all study procedures
