Who can take part
- You are between 18 and 70 years old
- You have been diagnosed with moderate-to-severe gum disease with specific measurements (probing depth of 5–8 mm and bleeding on at least 2 non-adjacent teeth)
- You have not had gum surgery on the target teeth or deep cleaning (scaling and root planing) in the past 6 months
- You do not have active tooth infections, cavities needing immediate treatment, or abscesses in the mouth
- Your blood pressure, blood sugar (if diabetic), liver, kidney, and blood cell counts are within acceptable ranges
- You are willing to use effective contraception and avoid other clinical trials during the study
