Who can take part

  • You are between 8 and 15 years old
  • You have a confirmed genetic diagnosis of Friedreich's ataxia with specific GAA repeat mutations in the FXN gene
  • Your Friedreich's ataxia symptoms are mild to moderate (specific disease severity score ≤ 65)
  • You can understand and follow English instructions
  • You do not have a pacemaker, metal implants, or metal dental braces (needed for the brain MRI scan)
  • You are not currently pregnant and can participate in study visits
