Who can take part

  • You must have a genetic test showing Friedreich's Ataxia.
  • You need to be able to ride a stationary bike safely without help.
  • Your depression score on a questionnaire must be under 20.
  • Your cognitive (thinking and memory) score must be 23 out of 30 or higher.
  • You cannot have other health problems (like a stroke or serious heart condition) that make exercise unsafe.
  • You should not be doing vigorous endurance exercise more than 2 days a week.
