Wedge Insoles and Knee Movement During Walking and Running

This study tests whether special shoe inserts (wedged on one side) can improve how your knee moves and how your leg muscles work when you walk and run. Researchers will measure your movement, muscle activity, and forces on your knee to see if these inserts help.

Who can take part

  • You can walk and run at least 10 meters on your own without help
  • No injuries to your legs, pelvis, or lower back in the past year
  • No treatments for your legs, pelvis, or lower back in the past 6 months
  • Your shoe size is European size 36–45 (roughly US women's 6–14 or men's 4–12)
  • Your feet have a neutral or nearly neutral position (not very flat or very high-arched)
  • Your BMI (weight relative to height) is between 18 and 25, and you don't have neurological, muscular, or foot deformities
