Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older
  • You have bleeding inside the brain (intraventricular hemorrhage) requiring a drainage tube placed by neurosurgery
  • Your baseline disability level is minimal (able to care for yourself or have minor symptoms only)
  • Treatment can start within 24 hours of your hospital arrival
  • Your bleeding was NOT caused by head injury or trauma
  • You do not show severe brainstem damage (like loss of reflexes or fixed, dilated pupils)
