Salt water after clot-busting treatment for stroke

Who can take part

  • You must be between 18 and 80 years old.
  • You must have had a stroke caused by a clot and received a clot-busting medicine within 4.5 hours of symptoms starting (or within a certain time window if onset time is unknown).
  • You must not have had significant disability before your stroke.
  • You must not have a history of heart failure, irregular heartbeat (atrial fibrillation), or serious kidney problems.
  • You must not have had any severe bleeding episodes recently or any condition that prevents the use of the clot-busting medicine.
