T-DXd for breast cancer that has spread to the brain

Who can take part

  • You must be at least 18 years old and have HER2-positive breast cancer that has spread to the brain or other organs.
  • Your doctor plans to start you on the drug trastuzumab deruxtecan (Enhertu).
  • You must have at least one brain tumor that has not been treated with radiation and can be seen on an MRI.
  • Your neurological symptoms (like headaches, weakness, or seizures) must be stable for at least one week, and any medicines for these symptoms (steroids, seizure drugs) must be at a stable dose.
  • You must be willing to have a lumbar puncture (spinal tap) and provide a tumor sample (from a biopsy or surgery).
  • You cannot have serious lung disease, uncontrolled heart problems, or active hepatitis B or C infection.
