Long-term study of vatiquinone for Friedreich's ataxia

Who can take part

  • You must be able to walk, even if you need a little help (like using a cane or walker).
  • Your mFARS score (a test of movement and coordination) must be between 20 and 70.
  • You must have a specific genetic form of FA (GAA repeats in both copies of the FXN gene).
  • You cannot take Skyclarys (omaveloxolone) during the trial, and must have stopped it for at least 30 days if you used it before.
  • You must avoid certain drugs (like some antibiotics, St. John's wort, grapefruit juice) for 4 weeks before and during the study.
  • You cannot have other serious health conditions that might affect the study results.
