Who can take part

  • Your baby had surgery to fix a missing piece of the food pipe (esophageal atresia), with or without an abnormal connection to the windpipe (tracheoesophageal fistula).
  • The surgery was done at Papa Giovanni XXIII Hospital in Bergamo, Italy, on or after January 1, 2013.
  • Both parents or the legal guardian give written permission for the baby to be in the study.
