This study compares two ways of using a special ultrasound camera (IVUS) inside your heart's main artery during stenting. The goal is to see if a new 'expert' computer system helps the doctor place the stent better than the standard IVUS method. It may help people with blockages at the Y-shaped split of the left main artery.

Who can take part

  • You have a new blockage in the main artery of your heart (left main artery) where it splits into two branches.
  • Your procedure is planned ahead of time (not an emergency).
  • You have not had a severe heart attack (STEMI) in the last 72 hours.
  • You have not had a stent placed in this same spot before, and you have not had open-heart bypass surgery.
  • You are able to take blood-thinning medications (dual antiplatelet therapy) for at least 6 months to 1 year after the procedure.
